Concert Song Lyrics

Kindergarten Songs for Fall Concert - November 6, 2019

I Bought Me a Cat
I bought me a cat, my cat pleased me
I fed my cat under yonder tree
My cat says “fiddle – eye -  fee”

I bought me a hen, my hen pleased me
I fed my hen under yonder tree
My hen says “shimmy – shack”

I bought me a goose, my goose pleased me
I fed my goose under yonder tree
My goose says “honk, honk”

I bought me a pig, my pig pleased me
I fed my pig under yonder tree
My pig says “griffey – griffey”

I bought me a sheep, my sheep pleased me
I fed my sheep under yonder tree
My sheep says “baa – baa”

I bought me a cow, my cow pleased me
I fed my cow under yonder tree
My cow says “moo – moo”

I bought me a horse, my horse pleased me
I fed my horse under yonder tree
My horse says “neigh – neigh”

Thanksgiving
Turkey and dressing’s on the table
Sweet pumpkin pie is mighty fine
Brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles
Thanksgiving is a family time.

Heads we bow, hands we fold,
thankful prayers our hearts will hold
Hands and hearts, hearts and hands
Join to stretch across the land.

I Love the Mountains
I love the mountains
I love the rolling hills
I love the fountains
I love the daffodils
I love the fireside
when all the lights are low
Boom – de – ada, boom – de – ada
Boom – de – ada, boom – de – ada
Boom – de – ada, boom – de – ada
Boom – de – ada, boom – de – ada
BOOM !

1st Grade Songs for Fall Concert - November 6, 2019

The Little Drummer Boy

Come they told me
A new born king to see
Our finest gifts we bring
To lay before the king
So to honor him
When we come

Little baby
I am a poor boy too
I have no gift to bring
That's fit to give a king
Shall I play for him
On my drum

Mary nodded
The ox and lamb kept time
I played my drum for him
I played my best for him
Then he smiled at me
Me and my drum

Land of the Silver Birch/Canoe Song
Land of the silver birch
Home of the beaver
Where still the mighty moose
wanders at will
Blue lake and rocky shore
I will return once more

Boom diddy ah dee
Boom diddy ah dee
Boom diddy ah dee boom (twice)

Swift as a silver fish
Canoe of birch bark
Thy mighty waterways
Carry me forth
Blue lake and rocky shore
I will return once more  (Boom…)

My paddle’s keen and bright
Flashing like silver
Follow the wild goose flight
Dip dip and swing

Dip dip and swing it back
Flashing like silver
Follow the wild goose flight
Dip dip and swing (Boom...)

Welcome!

For the Love of Music
Mrs.Warner's Music Class

Welcome to the new, musical school year of 2019-2020 !
I am Jolene Warner, new to ACA this year, with twelve years of music teaching experience in the Tempe Elementary District. Needless to say, I am thrilled to come aboard with the wonderful faculty and the budding scholars at ACA!

Due to being a mommy to a toddler son, I am part-time and will be on campus Mondays, Thursdays, and first and fourth Wednesdays. Please don't ever hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have: JWarner@ArchwayChandler.org

Before you read on, please mark you calendars for these TWO MANDATORY CONCERTS:

CHANGE OF DATE!!!!

Wednesday, November 6, 2019

and
Wednesday, April 1, 2020

Sarah Cadwallender and myself will be providing more information as these dates grow closer, but the important thing is to have 100% participation, with all students wearing black bottoms (pant, skirts and shoes) and white tops/blouses, with all boys in a tie. Both concerts take place at Higley Center for the Performing Arts in the evening.

Your Child's Whole Body Will Discover Music!

HANDS AND FEET can demonstrate the BEAT through clapping, stepping, stomping, swaying, patting, etc. and can be even more fun with a partner!
EARS can develop aural acuteness and eventually aid in matching PITCH, accurately echoing and mimicking RHYTHMS, recognizing famous musical works, and categorizing selections of music into historical GENRES, identifying elements of TIMBRE, DYNAMICS and FORM. The VOICE can control its muscles to sing both low and high pitches, and can develop a pure singing TONE, becoming more confident singing many different styles of songs. The EYES can develop notation recognition through musical LITERACY with exposure and familiarity to musical SYMBOLS, eventually able to decipher complex musical scores.

Focus Units:

Quarter 1: RHYTHM
Quarter 2: MELODY
Quarter 3: FORM
Quarter 4: DYNAMICS
